Lita Rossana Ford (also known in the form of Lita Ford) is a British born American guitarist who was the role of lead singer for The Runaways a female hard rock group in the 1970s. They gained attention by their raunchy lyrics and punk-inspired design. The group failed to achieve major success on the scene in the United States but earned huge popularity overseas especially in Japan. The band broke up in 1979, Ford embarked upon a successful solo career with heavy metal. After taking vocal lessons she launched her debut solo album, called 'Out for Blood'. This was followed by the release of 'Dancin on the Edge'. The two albums didn't have much success, and Ford was largely absent from the world of rock for a couple of years. In 1988, Ford returned to the music scene by releasing a dazzling album titled 'Lita. The hit single 'Kiss Me Deadly' and the ballad "Close My Eyes Forever' both became big success. However, the popularity of her career wasn't last long and after a few years, she was absent. After releasing 'Black, in 1995, and then 'Wicked Wonderland, 15 years later it was back in the spotlight. She released her latest album Time Capsule in 2016. Guitar Player Magazine has awarded her The Certified Guitar Legend Award.
