Lita Rossana Ford (also also known by the name Lita Ford) is an British born American guitarist who was the lead of The Runaways a female hard rock band in the 70s. The group was admired for their provocative songs and punk-rock fashion. Though the group didn't make much progress in America but they enjoyed huge popularity overseas. It was particularly true in Japan. Ford started her own heavy-metal career after the breakup from her band in 1979. Her debut solo album was 'Dancin' on the Edge and was followed by the album Out for Blood. Ford vanished for some time from the scene following the albums' failure to receive much attention. She returned with a bang with her hit album 'Lita which was released in 1988. the single 'Kiss me Deadly' as well as the ballad 'Close My Eyes Forever were both big success. But her fame was only short-lived and she vanished in the world of music for many years. The resurgence of her career came with release of "Black" which came out in 1995, and "Wicked Wonderland" which came out almost 15 years following. The album "Time Capsule" was released in the year 2016 by her. The singer was honored with The Certified Guitar Legend Award by Guitar Player Magazine.
