Lita Rossana Ford (also commonly referred to as Lita Ford) is an British born American guitar vocalist who played the lead for The Runaways a female hard rock group from the 1970s. They were noticed by their raunchy lyrics and punk-inspired design. The group wasn't success within their home country of the United States, it gained immense popularity in the world. Ford's solo career in heavy metal had a great success following the band breakup. She took vocal lessons and released her first solo album , 'Out for Blood' then 'Dancin' on the Edge. Ford's albums were not very well-received and she stayed away for a couple of years. Her smashing hit, 'Lita was released in the year 1989. Kiss Me Deadly was a major hit, along with the ballad Close My Eyes Forever and Kiss Me Deadly. However, her success was brief and she disappeared from the music industry for several decades. Her release of Black in 1995 was followed by fifteen year wait for 'Wicked wonderland. The most recent album "Time Capsule" was launched in 2016. Guitar Player Magazine has awarded her The Certified Guitar Legend Award.
