Lita Rossana Ford was born in the United Kingdom and was an American guitarist, vocalist and writer. In the late 70s she was the lead guitarist for the hard-rocking all-girl band The Runaways. The band didn't have an enormous following in The United States. However, the group's popularity increased abroad, particularly in Japan. Ford enjoyed a lengthy and successful career as a solo heavy metal musician after the group broke up up in 1979. She began taking voice classes followed by her first album "Out for Blood" and then "Dancin" on the Edge. Her albums weren't very popular and she went on hiatus for several years. Her biggest hit, 'Lita' came out in 1989. The single 'Kiss Me Deadly and the ballad "Close My Eyes Forever' both became major hit songs. Her success was unfortunately brief and after a couple of years after, she went under the radar. Re-emerging with releases of "Black" from 1995 as well as "Wicked Wonderland" which came out almost 15 years following. She released her latest album Time Capsule in 2016. Guitar Player Magazine gave her The Certified Guitar Legend Award.
