Lita Rossana Ford was born in the United Kingdom and was an American guitarist, vocalist and writer. In the late 70s she was the lead guitarist for the hard-rocking all-girl band The Runaways. The band didn't have an enormous following in The United States. However, the group's popularity increased abroad, particularly in Japan. Ford enjoyed a lengthy and successful career as a solo heavy metal musician after the group broke up up in 1979. She began taking voice classes followed by her first album "Out for Blood" and then "Dancin" on the Edge. Her albums weren't very popular and she went on hiatus for several years.
