Lita Rossana Ford (also commonly referred to in the form of Lita Ford) is a British born American guitarist who was the lead of The Runaways a female hard rock group from the 1970s. They were noticed for their rebellious lyrics and punkish fashion. Although the band was not popular on the scene in their home country of the United States, it gained huge popularity abroad. Ford started a metal solo career after the band broke up in 1979. She began taking voice classes and then released her first album "Out For Blood" and then "Dancin" at the Edge. Both the albums did not get much attention and Ford disappeared from the rock world for a few years. Her smashing hit, 'Lita was released in the year 1989. The song "Kiss My Deadly" and ballad "Close My Eyes Forever" were big hits. However, the success of her career was not last long and after a few years she disappeared. After releasing 'Black, in 1995, and then 'Wicked Wonderland 15 years afterwards she returned. The most recent album "Time Capsule" was released in the year 2016. Guitar Player Magazine presented her with the prestigious Certified Guitar Legend Award.
