Lita Rossana Ford also known as Lita Ford, as she's popularly known, was an American-born British guitarist and singer who was the leader of the only female hard rock band The Runaways during the late 1970s. It was not possible for The Runaways to become popular in America, however they did gain a fair amount of attention in other countries particularly Japan. Ford began a solo heavy metal career after the breakup of her group in 1979. Her debut album as a solo artist was 'Dancin' on the Edge which was followed by her album Out for Blood. Ford went missing from the music scene for some time after her albums didn't gain much popularity. It was 1988 when Ford released her smash album "Lita". Kiss Me Deadly was a huge hit as was the ballads Close My Eyes Forever and Kiss Me Deadly. Unfortunately her success was short-lived and she was absent from the industry for several years. In 1995, she released 'Black' and 15 years later , she released 'Wicked. The album she released was Time Capsule in 2016. Guitar Player Magazine awarded her the prestigious Certified Guitar Legend Award.
