Lita Rossana Ford (also also known as Lita Ford) is a British born American singer on guitar who took as the lead vocalist in The Runaways a female hard rock band in the 70s. The group was admired for their provocative lyrics and punk-inspired design. While the group was not popular on the scene in The United States, it gained enormous popularity overseas. Following the split of the group in 1979 Ford began a successful solo career in heavy metal. She began taking voice classes and then released her first album "Out For Blood" which was followed by "Dancin" in the Edge. Both albums failed to have much success, and Ford was largely absent from the world of rock for several years. In 1988, she released her hit album "Lita". Kiss Me Deadly was a major hit, along with the ballads Close My Eyes Forever and Kiss Me Deadly. However, the success of her career was not lasting and over the course of several years she disappeared. She re-emerged after the release of 'Black in 1995 and 'Wicked Wonderland almost 15 years later. 2016 saw the release of her most recent album of studio work "Time Capsule". Her name was given The Certified Guitar Legend Award by Guitar Player Magazine.
