Lita Rossana Ford, also called Lita Ford, is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist who was born in the UK. She was a lead guitarist in The Runaways, a hard-rock group comprised of females in the late 1970s. Their punk rock music and provocative lyrics helped them get not only the attention of rock fans but also from the community. Although the band did not make much progress in America however they became extremely popular in other countries. That was the case especially in Japan. Ford began a heavy metal solo career following the band's broke up in 1979. Following vocal training, she launched her debut solo album, 'Out For Blood'. The popularity of her was brief, and she went under the radar for a couple of years. The album's release Black in 1995 was followed by fifteen-year delay for the album 'Wicked Wonderland. The album she released most recently "Time Capsule" was released in 2016. Guitar Player Magazine presented her with the Certified Guitar Legend award.
