Lita Rossana Ford She was a British-born American singer, guitarist and music writer. In the late 70s she was a lead guitar for the hard-rocking all-girl group The Runaways. The group was not able to achieve major success within the United States but earned huge popular internationally, especially in Japan. The band broke up in 1979 Ford started a lucrative solo career in heavy metal. Her debut solo album was 'Dancin' On the Edge which was followed by her record Out for Blood. Ford did not achieve much with either album and remained out of the realm of rock for about 10 years. Ford returned to the scene with her smashing hit album 'Lita, which debuted in 1988. Kiss Me Deadly, and Close My Eyes Forever both quickly became huge hit. The success of her was brief and after a couple of more years, she disappeared. Her release of Black in 1995 was followed by a fifteen-year delay for the album 'Wicked Wonderland. 2016 saw the release of her most recent studio album "Time Capsule". She was awarded The Certified Guitar Legend Award by Guitar Player Magazine.
