Lita Rossana Ford (also known as Lita Ford) is a British born American guitarist who was the lead for The Runaways a female hard rock group from the 1970s. They were noticed by their raunchy lyrics and punk-inspired design. While the group was not success within their home country of the United States, it gained immense popularity in the world. Ford had a long and prosperous career as a solo performer after the band split from 1979.
