Lita Rossana Ford popularly known as Lita Ford, is a British American singer-songwriter, guitarist and vocalist who was the lead guitarist of the all-girl rock band The Runaways in the late 1970s.Their punkish sound and rebellious lyrics allowed them to be noticed in the rock world. The band was never able to the group to be popular in America, but they gained a lot of attention in other countries, especially Japan. Ford began a heavy metal solo career following the band's ended in 1979. She took voice lessons and released her first solo album , 'Out For Blood' and 'Dancin' On the Edge. The two albums didn't receive much success and Ford disappeared out of the scene for several years. Her smashing hit, 'Lita was released in 1989. Both the song "Kiss me Deadly" and the ballad "Close My Eyes Forever" were huge hits. However, her popularity was not long-lasting and she was absent from the industry for several years. The album 'Black' was released in 1995, and 'Wicked Wonderland 15 years afterwards she returned. Her most recent album 'Time Capsule was released in 2016. Guitar Player Magazine has awarded her The Certified Guitar Legend Award.
