Lita Rossana Ford (also commonly referred to as Lita Ford) is an British born American guitar vocalist who played the role of lead singer for The Runaways a female hard rock group in the 1970s. They gained attention by their raunchy lyrics and punkish fashion. The group wasn't success on the scene in the United States, it gained immense popularity in the world. Ford embarked on a heavy-metal solo career after the band broke up in 1979. Her debut album as a solo artist was 'Dancin' On the Edge which was followed by her record Out for Blood. Ford was absent from the scene for some time after her albums didn't become popular. The smash hit album "Lita" was released by Ford in 1988. The hit single 'Kiss Me Deadly' as well as the ballad 'Close My Eyes Forever' both became huge success. But her fame was only short-lived and she was absent in the world of music for many years. Her re-emergence was with the releases of "Black" which came out in 1995, and "Wicked Wonderland" nearly fifteen years later. The year 2016 brought the release of her most recent album of studio work "Time Capsule". Guitar Player Magazine has awarded her The Certified Guitar Legend Award.
