Lita Rossana Ford (also also known by the name Lita Ford) is a British born American guitarist who was the lead of The Runaways a female hard rock group from the 1970s. The group was admired by their raunchy lyrics and punkish design. The band did not enjoy any fans within the United States. However, their fame grew internationally especially in Japan. Ford embarked on a heavy-metal solo career following the band's broke up in 1979. She began voice lessons, and recorded her first solo album , 'Out For Blood' then 'Dancin' on the Edge. Her albums weren't very well-received and she stayed away for a couple of years. The smash hit 'Lita' came out in 1989. The track "Kiss me Deadly" and ballad "Close My Eyes Forever" were big hits. The success of her was brief and after a couple of additional years she was absent. The resurgence of her career came with release of "Black" in 1995, and "Wicked Wonderland", almost 15 years after. The album "Time Capsule" was released by her in 2016. Guitar Player Magazine presented her with the Certified Guitar Legend Award.
